Biggest Loser

Hey,

As you know I have been writing about TV shows lately. The next TV show I would like to feauture is biggest loser. I love te Biggest Loser! It is such an inspirational show to many people to lose weight. It is also an entertaining show.

One of the things that I don’t really enjoy about biggest loser is the insane amounts of DRAMA! I mean come on, the scale has to shuffle a bunch of numbers, while suspensful music plays, and everyone is looking hopefully up at the scale, and then COMMERCIAL BREAK! Come on people! You could shave probably the last hour off of the show if you cut the drama.

Also, some of the super intense work outs that the trainers make the contestants do are bad for you. Like when Bob hangs on the weights. That is probably back for your knees. Also, earlier in the season one of the contestants had a hip injury and she wanted to stay on the show. I mean, the show should have just made her go home. If you have a begining of a fractured hip, then you shouldn’t be taking the spot of someone who can actually work out!!! The show should have just said that she would go home. If she had stayed then that wouldn’t be fair.

I did not get to see the finale, but Helen won!! I think the show is not about money and winning, it is about losing weight and getting healthy.

Monsters VS Aleins

Hey,

So far I haven’t been commenting on movies. Today I am going to change that. Last weekend I went and saw Monsters VS Aleins. MVS is a great kid movie. It was not as funny as expected. I really enjoyed it, but there were some sad parts that brought the movie down. I think that those sad parts added a lot to the story, but during those parts a lot of the the kids in theater left and got more popcorn. There were jokes that were funny, but not something that you laughed at. Some things that I “got” but other people didn’t because I am familiar with Star Trek(next generation).

Most kids really enjoyed it, but it would have been much better in 3-D. The theater that I watched it in did not have the 3-D. The animation was great. This movie is a great movie for families, that even the parents would enjoy.

This movie had a lot of action so many kids in the theater were really enjoying it.

Celebrity Apprentice: Yay for Joan!!

Hey,

The next show I would like to talk about is Celebrity Apprentice. Celebrity Apprentice is a compatition show centered around business and making money. Different celebrities particapate in the show for charity. Last night was the season final for season 8.

The show is very good, but it is designed to get people to disagree and argue. The show lasts 2 hours but could probably be cut down to an hour and a half if they cut the drama. Most of the last hour is the “boardroom” where Donald Trump, who hosts the show, decides whose fault it was on the losing team. Then he eliminates them from the show.

The challenges range from advertising to selling stuff. The final challenge this season was to organize a silent auction. The final two this season where Joan Rivers and Annie Duke. Joan Rivers is a world famous comedian and Annie Duke is one of the world’s best poker players. Annie and Joan have hated each other since mid-season. In the end it was Joan who prevailed over Annie. The final challenge was very difficult but was won by Joan because she integrated the company that was sponsoring the challenge more into her auction. Also there were more people at Joan party than Annies.

I really enjoyed watching this show, but there is one thing that could be done to improve it. Cut the drama please! It takes so long to annouce the winner and the person who is fired. Come on Donald Trump. If you just keep asking questions about whose fault it is then people will give up and go watch something else. Because Donald Trump is Donald Trump, he thinks that he can ask very invasive and awkward questions at the boardroom. These questions usually result in people not liking each other afterword.

I was a fan of Joan though out the whole season. She was simple and too the point. Some of the things that she said about Annie where definitly exaggerated to the point that they were not warranted. Annie was definetly a jerk though out the show. Joan was a leader but not in such a way that made other people uncomftorable. When Annie was asking people for help, the first words out of her mouth were “Joan Rivers pissed off the decorators and now she must go down so hard! I will crush her like something that you have never seen!” That may not be the exact quote but it was that or somthing very much like that. On the other hand when Joan asked for help she told people that it was for charity. Very different playing styles.

The question that I asked last night after it was over was, when is next season? I had not followed the show before this season and I loved it!!

Gossip Girl

Hey,

For awhile I am going to be writing a mini-series on different TV shows that I watch/keep up with. I am not familiar with all shows, so if there is a show that you would like me to discuss please write a comment telling me so.

The first show I am going to cover is Gossip Girl. Gossip Girl is a show that is based off a bestselling book series. The original book series follows severel characters though their daily lives and daily drama from the point of view of the people themselves and a web blog that reports the comings and goings of these characters. The web blog is called Gossip Girl of course. The characters are the sons and daughters of some of the richest, most powerful people in New York City. All of the teenagers are Seniors in high school with the exception of 2 or 3 characters. The book is like a soap opera. The book series also spawned a spin off.

That is just the book series.

The TV show started with the same plot as the books then branched off. All of the characters are the same, but the are different in some ways. Many of the happenings in the show are based in the book series but have changed in some way.

Gossip Girl is great show. It is interesting, has a great method of story telling, and the characters seem to be just as they were described for the most part. Except for one character. In the book series, Vanessa was  girl who shaved her head, made strange films, and refused to channel the Upper East Side attitude. But on the other hand in the show Vannessa is a normal girl. She is not a rich, brat, like other characters in the show.

At first Gossip Girl seems stupid, and not worth your time. But once you start watching, it captivates you, and sucks you in. I started reading the book series first, then started watching the show. I think that the show and the book series are equal. Both have things that are good and bad. The show does a better job of involving the families of the teen characters as opposed to just the  teens themselves. Also because the show can show you settings better(obviously) it can take more time and give more dialouge and make different sequences longer. All around I think that the show is great, and I can’t think of anything that would make the show better.

All of the characters in the show are stereotypical characters. Some characters are so mean that you just want to reach into the TV and yell at them to stop. I hope that this show continues. The show is in its second season and is nearing the end. I hope that this show continues on. There has been rumors of a spinoff series, but we will see…

Gossip Girl is on The CW Mondays at 8/7c. Watch it!!!!

Hannah Montana; What?!?!?!???!

Hey,

One of the first things that you should know about me is that I am not a fan of Hannah Montana in any form. Hannah Montana, the show is not funny, and stupid. The characters are not even realistic. The amount of “witty” humor is so unrealistic. It paints an unreal reality for kids about what high school is like.

Yeah, I went there.

The music that goes along with the show is surprisingly bad if you look at it from the view of a person who listens to “real” music. From the point of view of  a kid, or a tween, the music is good. For kids it is good, and parents like it because it is music that they know is appropriate but the kids actually like.  Many kids have the illusion that they are listening to “popular” music when in fact they are listening to music that is looked down upon by many music critics and others.

But on the other hand the actress that plays Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus is actually doing well. The music that is from Miley is actually half decent. One song that sticks out is “The Climb”.  As much as I don’t like Hannah Montana, this song is actually good!!! Miley Cyrus is actually growing up and showing the world that she is a real musician and actress. She has even published a memoir titled, Miles to Go. I have not read it, but I plan too.

Another topic all together is, Hannah Montana The Movie. Rotten Tomatoes.com gave Hannah Montana The Movie a higher score than they gave Marley and Me. It was even considered “fresh”. For those of you who are not familiar with Rotten Tomatoes, that is very good. I plan to see the movie soon, but if big movie critics on Rotten Tomatoes are giving it a good score, then it might actually be worth seeing. I will write my full review of the movie after I see it.

Hello world!

Hey! Welcome to my Blog!!! This blog is brand new so the first thing I should probably do is tell you the point of the Blog. This Blog is going to be a forum for discussion about different books, shows, movies, and more! First let me tell you about myself. I am an amatuer film maker that just loves movies. I love wathcing them, making them, and, yes, reviewing them. I live in a place where movies don’t come to theaters until a month after their release so my reviews will be later than most other reviews.

I also love books. If I read a good book then I will tell you about it, but mostly this is a movie and TV Blog.

And finally TV shows! I also love TV. Not in a couch potato way of course. I will probably talk mostly about shows that I watch or know a lot about. In my next couple of entries I will talk about more specific shows.

Last but not least, I will occasionaly write about current events or other things of the sort. If there is a book, movie, show, or current event that you would like me to talk about then post a comment about it and I will definetly talk about it.

Thanks!!
